Configurations for a range of workloads:
- Virtual — general-purpose instances with shared or dedicated vCPUs; suitable for web apps, APIs, and background workers
- Bare Metal — full physical host with no hypervisor overhead; ideal for latency-sensitive or high-throughput workloads
Every project gets a private VLAN shared across all primitives:
- Machines, Functions, and Buckets communicate internally without leaving the INET network
- Public IPs are optional and can be attached or detached at any time
- Inbound and outbound firewall rules configurable per instance
- Private DNS resolution for all resources within a project
- Provision — select an instance type, region, and OS image; Machine is ready in seconds
- Snapshot — capture the full disk state at any point; restore or clone from a snapshot instantly
- Resize — move between instance types without reprovisioning for virtual configurations
- Destroy — terminate and release all resources; billing stops immediately
- Billing is per-second of active runtime — no minimum commitments, no idle charges on stopped instances
